So I recently purchased this cable because I wanted to see whatever was on my phone to show on my tv. Acter a little bit of research, I am not sire if that will work now. I have a Samsung galaxy S4 and well do y'all think this cable will be able to do that?

Hey there, it looks like your link didn't paste/resolve correctly (it was missing most of the relevant bits...).

Can you re-post what you meant?

For wired screen casting you need:
phone with MHL support (s4 has this)
MHL to HDMI adapter (my S4 came with this when new... it was about 6" long)
HDMI cable assuming you want to go more than 6" from your screen.
It should work fine.

But I agree with the others, wireless is waaay more convenient than wired.
  • Chromecast definitely preferred if you have a wifi router. It not only allows you to cast screen but also cast various web media with casting initiated from your phone but doesn't tie up your phone's screen/cpu/battery while the media is playing.
  • Miracast is easier if you don't have a wifi router (chromecast needs router for setup and for operation although there are apparently some workarounds...).
I had an S4 (now retired after it served a long faithful career) and have used it with all three casting methods: (wired, chromecast, miracast). The biggest problem I had was with the miracast - the particular miracast I selected (Microsoft Wireless Display Adapter) was spotty to connect (had to try several times). Investigated and found a lot of Samsung users were having this problem with this particular device. If you end up buying a miracast I'd stay away from this particular one (MWDA)
