I believe the 6in AMOLED screen is actually made by Samsung
I'm in China of course.

Must not be that great of a phone or it would be in the USA. Probably a China copycat of a major brand?http://www.oppo.com/en/smartphone-r7-plus

Oppo are certainly in the USA for high-end DVD, Blu-ray and home theater systems, but not phones. Not really a copycat, but many Chinese phones do look very similar at the moment.Must not be that great of a phone or it would be in the USA. Probably a China copycat of a major brand?

Oppo phones are available in most of Asia, Russia and Europe though.
Judging from many posts on AF, apart from Huawei Honor, the US seems to get a lot of budget and mediocre Chinese devices, things like rebranded TCL, Hisense, Coolpad, Lenovo(owns Motorola) , etc, and a lot of unknown manufacturers, again rebranded for pre-paid carriers like Straight Talk and TracFone. Probably many Americans are not paying $100+ to Verizon, Sprint or AT&T every month, so cheapo and budget phones it is.
Samsung Galaxy phones are considered a premium import brand in China, just like iPhones, and so attract premium pricing, no carrier subsidies available. The forthcoming Note 6 and S7, could be well in excess of equivalent of $1000 here.
