Root Will Proxy Address Change Prevent Activation

Can service be started on a rooted phone running a custom ROM? Im selling a Prevail rooted with CM7, the buyer wants it this way. Just wonder if it would mess up activation. Proxy address is also changed for 3g tweak.

So I cant get the old msl before flashing stock ej06 The one I get now is different, and doesnt work. Can servicesbestarted with theproxy address at 0.0.0.0? I dont think Boost would give that data even if they had it. The phone is my last phone I had on my account. Im sure they would question my motives.

If they did it online they probably wouldn't have a problem. If you wanted to be safe just make a back up, odin to stock, activate, odin to root then restore.

Activation will not work with CM7. You'll have to go to CTMod 2.5 or below or revert to stock. CM7 or the latest CTMod will not activate OTA. On CM7 they cannot use the dialer codes to program the phone or RTN to get the phone to reboot and try OTA.

Perhaps two separate nandroid backups? So they can revert to CM7 once they activate the phone?

Yup. The easiest way is to use a stock based ROM so the hidden menu can be accessed. I just went through all of that when I activated the Prevail that I sold my buddy. I actually just started from scratch and used Odin to revert to rooted stock. I've just got in the habit of doing it that way because it ensures everything installs properly.
