It worked for US Celluar and VM USA + theres a MetroPCS user posted in xda's general thread [that got s-off]. I'd say it will work with MetroPCS phones too. Mimics the xtc clip method; since, cdma [marvelc] have no sim you can jump right into qualcomm diagnostics, clear the s58 data, and voila. I think simonsimon34 has great guides in the development thread and there is even an app on the market that will root/unroot called un-rooting [ignore chinese subtitles]. I linked to it in another thread, similar topic; so, I won't again. But best advice is take 2-3 hours and check out xda.

Just stick to marvelc and/or A510c threads/searches and you will find all you need. It is crowded but some devs working to get HTC Wildfire S some notice and possible official support of more well known recover[ies], roms, etc. Always need more devs to s-off and join in.

Followed the metropcs user's journey out. That particular user used simonsimon34's guide to s-off, had trouble getting super one click to root, followed an old rooting guide by Heritz which is solid [what I used to root back in Nov]. Hope the retelling helps you.
PS If there is a s-off MetroPCS user who wants to make their stock rom a flashable zip, I did it for VM USA and US Cellular just pm me, and I'll cook one for you as well
