im a newbie. just got my dx2 about a week ago. had a d2 for a while. im afraid of rooting but i want to do it. im in a bad area where i get a very weak signal. is it possible that rooting will help me pull in a stronger signal or it had nothing to do with the antenna? thanx for your help in advance

No, rooting the phone itself will not make any difference to signal reception. You would have to wait for some kind of ROM update from Verizon that would help the phone's performance or for them to do some kind of change to their network towers. I would try doing a PRL update by entering *228 option 2. If that does not work I would contact customer service to see if there are any issues with reception in your area.

Thank you for the reply, for a minute there Ithought everyone was afraid to touch the subject....lol. Yeah, I already checked with VZW and we found out,I'm in the middle of 3 towers, all out of range. So my signal is very faint, it comes and goes in waves, sometimes very strong. As for the rooting, I'm still contemplating on it. I will probably get the nerves to do it within the next few days.
