Will the new Sandisk 128GB card work in Galaxy S4?

I would use that card on a tablet. For my phone I will use my 64 gig until the price comes down. Nice to know it will work on those older models though.

Has anyone bought one of these cards and used it in their S4? My 64GB is just about full and would love to have the extra capacity. Hate the cloud. Love local storage!

I have a 64GB card and mine is also almost full - mostly with music. It never ceases to surprise me how quickly some storage medium that initially seemed vast fills up. This has happened to me repeatedly over the last 25 years at least - I ought to have learned to expect it by now :).

I love the cloud but I hate the fact that I don't have a permanent 1Gb connection to it. That day is probably coming soon though.

Doesn't matter if it's a house, closet, flat surface in a shop, hard drive or memory...no matter how big...it will always fill to capacity.

As for the cloud...since metered billing is becoming the norm, why pay to access something over and over and over. Plus, the network in my area pretty much sucks (I'm lucky to get 56k modem speeds...thanks Sprint!). Cloud is great for backups but until there is a reliable, ubiquitous, high speed signal...that's all it's good for in my book.

I went to order that card off Amazon but see it's back-ordered 2-3 weeks. Maybe I'll wait a little longer and wait for prices to come down a bit since I still have 2GB left on my card. This is more of a 'want' than a 'need'.

Do you face any slowness in S4 as you are using the max supported external memory card capacity. Why I am asking is, earlier I used to hear that only 50% of the supported capacity memory cards can only be used (like if phone supports 64gb, then use only 32gb card).

128GB much like the 64GB cards will work in most devices, it's all backwards compatible.

But bare in mind the only devices on the market that can use the full speed of these cards use Samsung's Exynos 5 Octa SoC.

With anything else including Snapdragon you are limited to 10MB/s, you can thank Qualcomm for that.

No I am not and I have never heard that and nor do I believe it would be true for the S4 or for any other device for that matter.

I have had external SD cards almost full on my S2, S4, Xoom and Note 10.1 2014 and it has never caused me any performance problems.
