Will the official OTA Gingerbread update fix keyboard issue?

It seems to be. Time will tell for sure, but so far, I'm not having problems with dropped characters if I type too fast.

Same here. I don't know if you're rooted or not but I'm bone stock since I can't root my phone. Since the update my phone's been working great and as for the keyboard, physical and screen its been working fine. If there are any little issue's its with the physical keyboard but I think that's a hardware thing and not really software related if you're typing really fast anyway.
