Accessories Will this damage my battery/phone?

So...i managed to lose the outlet plugon part of my wall charger and i cant leave my pc running all night just to charge my phone

So i have a few ipod touch/iphone wall chargers that you plug a usb cable into, if i use my inc usb cable to charge off that will ruin my phone or baylttery? I wouldnt think so and battery indicator is shoe normal voltages

Just wanted to ask to stay on the safe side,

There should be a 'dc out' rating on both of the chargers, make sure the IPod charger isn't significantly higher than the one that comes with the DInc.

I regularly use those $3 ebay chargers (both wall and car), and so far the battery hasn't turned into a pile of slag..

Not a bad idea to check that, but it shouldn't matter. Even if the charger CAN put out more than 1 A (Standard usb current and what the oem chargers do) the phone will only draw 1A (probably only 0.5 A, the incredible only draws that from alot of non oem chargers).

You're fine charging from an apple charger (or really any usb source).

The trick tho, I've noticed, is in the car. If you're using the phone heavily for navigation lets say, with the screen always on and GPS running... If you don't have a power supply able to support the 1A draw needed to run and charge the phone, your phone never chargers and sometimes even goes down in battery charge.

So while I agree, Apple chargers are 5v and mostly of the time now 1A, saying that any USB source should be fine is awkward because the case for use could change and then its not fine...

I tried to write this three times without it sounding like I was being jerk, I am just trying to offer the examples of what you should be aware of ...
