Help Will this fix my wifi problem?

I have had a problem with the wifi at home, I can connect my router which is a Thompson SpeedTouch (which I'm pretty sure is causing the problem) but I can't get internet access. I was wandering if I got a wifi access point such as this one TRENDnet | Products | Wireless N Access Point | TEW-637AP would I get internet access?

Can you get internet access with, say, a laptop connected to that router?

I'd try another router first before purchasing anything. Have you not got a friend who will lend you one to try?

Everything other then my DHD things such as laptops and ipods can connect to the router and work. My DHD seems to work on every other router even at my friends who has a similar router.

Try changing the channel your current router uses. Might be interference because its using a congested channel if your neighbours have routers running the same one.

Is your router security set, like mine, so that only certain mac addresses can connect to the internet?

As Stu said, don't buy anything just yet, change the WiFi channel and check to see if it is refusing the DHD's mac address (as above).

There is/was an issue with WiFi on the initial GB release, assigning yourself a static IP has been known to sort. Instructions on how to do that are here.

Well, I've solved it. I ended up calling my net supplier and the told me to use the static IP fix (which I had already tried) and also told me to fill in the DNS 1 and 2 with their numbers
