Will verizon replace incred for incred 2?

He was going to charge me for the back $10 and new wall charger $20 but then said, ok I will give you those as well....probably did it because inc was at that point not selling in the stores anymore, doubtful you could get the inc 2 for a defective inc but worth a try...BTW inc great phone, rooted it as well like my eris...

That is because the eris has been retired. Once they are out of the device they will replace with a newer on.

actually they had eris in stock and was going to send that to me, but if you are nice and a good customer you can usually talk them into a slight upgrade of older phone like original inc which is now also retired, of course they were not going to send me a thunderbolt or new inc 2 for free although they offered to me for $149 instead of $249 on the TB....

Same deal with my OG droid. I went through 6 replacements in the time between the OG droid launch and the dinc launch. Once the dinc was launched however they let me cancel my contract and buy a dinc on a one year contract. It worked out well cause I was able to sell my og droid for more than the one year contract price on the dinc. (no I did not sell a broken og droid, they gave me a good one but let me buy a new pone on top of that)
 
Ok so ive had my incredible that i bought second hand from a verizon rep that one it and had no need for it. I guess that was around christmas.. Now its slow, will randomly freeze, turn black, then cut off completely. Oh and when it charges its hot enough to fry an egg. -_- (phone has NO water damage or droppage) SO my question comes in a couple parts. 1- I wonder what they would give me as a replacement and even if they would replace it since it does it randomly. 2- do i call verizon and tell them and just have them send me a new phone? and if i do it that way will they send me the incredible 1? just wonderingggg! Thanks guys! :)

This may seem like a silly question but do you have the extended warranty on the phone?

Typically I've found that Verizon and Asurian both tend to replace phones with like phones unless reburbished models are unavailable.
 
I know I have a warranty on it that I pay for every month but im not sure exactly which warranty i have or even if there are different types of warranties lol
 
If you have insurance through Assurion most likely. My sister just dropped her Droid X today, called up and theyre sending her a Droid X2 (which JUST came out).

Dual Core Droid X2 for $89. shes so lucky :( lol

89 + 8.99 a month for however long she had insurance for.
 
I have inc1 and inc2, love them both, once root comes on inc2 it will rock. I don't need 4g,.. I had an offer to trade my inc2 for a tbolt, but a, gunna pass in hopes that root comes .
 
Just got off the phone with Asurion after dropping my DInc this morning and cracking the glass. Misty was very helpful and offered me the choice of a Droid X or a DInc 2 so of course I went with the DInc 2. I tried earlier today online and the only replacement option was only the Droid X.

just talked to someone online, they told me that they have inc's in stock, and that is what mine would be replaced with, FYI. I talked to someone named nikki at 11:30 am, est.
 
I just called and asked again and they gave me an Incredible 2 no problem. They said they are out of incs. I might just take the $150 hit and keep the Inc as a backup in case I break my inc2

Wait, what...so your insurance replacing your phone but are planning on keeping it as a backup?

I'd love to hear how that isn't insurance fraud and/or theft ( ok, maybe I'm just not seeing it, but I don't get how that'd work).

oh no they will charge him full price for the dinc 2. When replacing my wifes phone they tell you if we dont recieve the faulty phone in 5 days then we charge you full price. So he is more looking at $500 and not $150. No matter what they get theirs in the end.

Actually, they will do an alternate replacement if the situation warrants it. What they stopped doing a year ago was a new phone after 3 replacements.

I asked three different agents and they all said it would be a $150 fee. Please use correct/current information before posting garbage. Thank you. Even if it were $500 it's really no big deal.

I have decided however to send it back, because I do have my old BlackBerry I could use as a backup.
 
When you call asurion for a replacement phone, they mark your current phone as an unusable esn once the new one is activated, and there is no going back to the original phone without paying full retail price for the replacement phone that was sent out (about $500, unless they consider the new phone as your upgrade). But you may still run into problems trying to activate an esn/phone that has been marked as broken, defective, lost, stolen ect.

If you want a back up phone, you are better off paying the upgrade price for the inc 2($$150-$199) and just holding onto your current inc.

No the $150 was to upgrade to the dinc2 and not to keep your old phone. My wife was offered different phones when her old phone was broken. They told her if she wanted to upgrade it was $150. She was then told like all others if she didn't return the defective phone then she would be charged the full price of the replacement phone. This was last week So no I am giving up to date info and not posting garbage. Sounds like you found out they was going to charge you full price and is why now all of the sudden returning your dinc. Lol.

This is to keep people from pulling a scam on carriers and insurance providers of getting a replacement phone while there is nothing wrong with their phone and keeping it.

So they were supposed to charge me $150 for the upgrade? Right. I was charged my $89 deductible and nothing more. Stopped reading right there because if your post began wrong, I'm sure it will continue as such. Please stop posting.
