I am seriously considering it. I did not root my phone (droid Incredible) mostly because I did not really see the need. However, I am thinking about do it for the Xoom. But I will look for as close to idiot proof instructions as I can find.

I will most likely, well if there is a easy way to return to a stock state at least.

Yeah, actually I had this same question earlier when thinking of rooting. Will I be able to return it to stock easily? Is there a way to back up the system?

I think it will be very similar to the Droid X, they currently have a one click root/unroot app called z4root. It roots the current Android version on the device (2.2.1), you just install the app press root and poof rooted. Android 3.0 may very well be a whole new beast though.

I'll root every Android device if it'll let me. :D I don't know if it'll be rootable for awhile though.

Voted that I will root. Could have used a "seriously considering it" option but where I am leaning towards rooting I went with that.

I rooted my OG droid about 43 seconds after I got home from the store. I'm 100% positive I will root the Xoom as XDA and other devs start come up with some killer stuff for it.

Yup I'm down with rooting, but will probably wait a few days after the rooting procedure, etc. have been established, just to be sure.

Think I am keeping mine stock when it hits Denmark sometime in Q2. The only immediate thing I have seen rooting useful for in earlier devices was tehtering. But as that is a built in feature these days, I am not really sure why I should.

I haven't rooted my X10 either, but who knows. Might just be the Xoom that changes my look on rooting.
