Wimax

4GLTE is in use for this phone not 4G Wimax .

Wimax is in use for the Samsung galaxy SII & HTC EVO V models.

3G, which is why I'm skipping Virgin Mobile and going to SIMple Mobile ;)

No matter which carrier you use, an LTE phone will not connect to Wimax and a Wimax phone will not connect to LTE. Switching carriers will not change this.

An LTE phone when not connected to LTE will revert to 3G. And a Wimax phone when not connected to Wimax will also revert to 3G. Unless there are some rare "tri-radio" phones that I don't know about, this is the issue with all phones on all carriers.. including Virgin Mobile and Simple Mobile.

Hope this helps.

You'll never see a LTE/Wi-Max phone it would be the biggest and thickest phone on the market. I imagine it would be something like the First Gen Zune
