Help Win7 32-bit doesn't recognize Tab

Hello!

I have a problem with connecting Galaxy Tab to laptop which is running win7 32-bit. Basically, i plug the usb cable in, and windows says it cannot detect the connected device, and it's not working properly. In the system it's listed as "Uknown device". Samsung Kies also does not show any device connected, the only options available is to add music to the library.

Tried switching USB debugging on and off, nothing happens. Tried selecting Mass Storage and Samsung Kies in the menu when it's connected, nothing happens.

How can i fix it please?

Not sure how to help you, but it has to be something with your PC (running in the back ground). My work PC (Windows 7 32-Bit) wouldn't install the Android MTP device (but did install the other 2 that were installing when I plugged it in). My personal laptop (same OS) did however without issue.

My home PC (Windows 7 64-Bit) worked fine as well.

I did download and install the drivers before plugging it in though...

When I first got the tab, I plugged it into my pc and everything was fine. I didn't realize kies wa what the tab used to transfer data and I killed it and I couldn't get it to see it anymore. Then, I did something real stupid and force stopped the mtp application hoping it would reset itself. It didn't. I ended up having to do a factory reset to get it to work again. Luckily though this was within about an hour of getting the tab so I didn't lose much.fatefully you find a less cumbersome solution.
