Would you try Windows 10 ROM

Xiaomi is the world's 3rd largest phone manufacturer - LG is 5th.

If you've heard of the MIUI rom (pronounced me you eye - me UI) or have used it or any of its components - that's the Xiaomi's Android. On a Xiaomi phone it's really outstanding (and forget anything that you may read about it being an iPhone copy).

We should be so lucky to get Xiaomi phones here (I'm not kidding, it's a great setup) but sadly it's not in the cards yet.

The blogosphere went wild over the Xiaomi / Windows 10 thing - but two things to remember -

It's a really small test program, not a full scale rollout.

Windows has a way of not running unless on their own very locked bootloader.

Unless someone knows something I missed, I think that porting it out of a Xiaomi is going to be right up there with porting it from a Nokia.

What email did you get this morning? Do you have a contact that has it?

Here's the Xiaomi phone they're testing on -

Microsoft has said that they plan to go after all of the major Chinese phones - in China. No idea what that really means though.

Unfortunatly I don't have a contact. However someone's bound to post the zip online. If I can get ahold of it do we have any willing contenders to try port?

Microsoft has had a tough time in the mobile market, where it has to face both Google’s and Apple. But this is far from being over.. Instead, Microsoft is making its software available to as many users as possible, and coming up with clever ways to get back in the game.
Instead of only pitching very competitive mobile prices that come with some impressive software bundles, the company is apparently also thinking about taking over existing Android devices. That’s right, Microsoft made a way on Android handsets, what better way to reshape into the new age of free software? The app store is the new wave.

If you guys look into trying Windows 10 PRO let me know, current iso build 10130 is out now. You can download it either way for free if your windows operating system qualifys, BUT if you have it installed during testing you keep it.

--hoping it comes out for the zv5 as well!!! (that's what we use here for the co. haha) hey you cant beat $30 bucks a month unl talk txt and 2gb of data.. i also feel the volt was so under rated! they better keep their promises of Android 5.1.1, if not ill be good with win10, hopefully this will put a bit of pressure to release a bit more---

Anyway, they gutted Nokia and it still didn't help.

i feel you bro, Nokia has BEEN dead. This however will be irrelevant. Windows 10 Mobile will hit the ground rinning for FREE. People will be able to use old hardware. Would you rather be able to keep updating or buying a phone just because of software?
Example: Lg Volt - Hardware is fantastic!! but hey, with each company comes restrictions,.
This will be a huuuuge step.I feel google will dominate, windows I see second and iOS is just getting old.
