Windows/XP PC unable to recognise Android mobile as a Device.

I am from Kolkata, India. I have recently bought a Samsung Galaxy S GT-I9003 Android mobile.:)

I am unable to connect my mobile with my PC via the USB data cable provided with the mobile. The PC is not able to recognise it as a device.

I have tried out on my mobile options as Accessories->Settings->Applications->Development->USB Debugging. Then connecting with the Data connect, but to no avail. The PC still could not recognise it as a device.

I have also installed the Samsung Kies, but my problem is yet to get resolved.
Could anyone suggest me a way out to have my PC recognise my mobile as a device.

Thanks,
D.K.Banerjee

Welcome to the AndroidForums, D.K.

Yeah, driver issues on the PC are usually the culprit here. Unfortunately, the solution is very phone-specific. Research and/or post something in your phone's home forum to see if someone can point you in the right direction:
