Folks....
Here in Portland Oregon I can get 6 bars of signal strength when I am in my front or back yard using G4. However, when I walk in my house, the signal strength drops off to one bar. I can move the sofa, and stand next to a window and get two and sometimes three bars.
I am interested in tethering. I would like more signal strength inside my home (solid 3 bars would be nice - anything more would be icing on the cake).
When I looked for HTC EVO amplifiers/repeaters, all I could find were 3G units.
When I looked for antennas in the 2.5- 2.7 Ghz range I found a lot. However, I have been unable to find a repeater/amplifier for WiMax.
I have searched under 802.16e, 2.5-2.7Ghz repeaters, amps, and I am coming up empty handed.
Seems like the Clear Wire folks have a solution for stuff that plugs into your laptop or other hardware, but none that I could find would re broadcast the G4 signal in my house.
I am guessing we have no external antenna jack on the HTC EVO 4G? Has anyone read about a mod to the HTC EVO to place a external jack? If we could jack in someplace (a mod) could we modify some Clear Wire repeaters and use that?
Any suggestions, links or feedback welcome.
