How to install.
1. Backup apps(recommended)
2. Backup current rom with cwm or https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.h3r3t1c.onnandbup&hl=en
3.Clear cache and data(factory reset), Clear dalvik cache, and go to mounts and format system.
4.Flash Miui.

it's really not that hard to build from source. i used these guides as a basis for learning.

Yeah building is pretty easy, the problem with that is there is no miui source, only miui china has it, they distribute builds for like 10 phones every week in chinese, miui.us takes those builds, translates everything to english, then throws in the files necessary to make it work on a bunch of other phones from a cm rom for those phones, and for us to port miui to this phone we need to do the same thing they do, just keep replacing files from a cm rom until everything works.

which build did you use as the base?? and can you provide a link to the rom you ported over? I'd like to make this sort of a personal challenge taken upon myself haha

thats not true miui has a git repository with their source. but miui is not an os. they just take android and layer over it so how to build from their source is beyond me but could be done.

If MIUI is generally a layover then couldn't you theoretically take a cm rom, with permission of course, that has almost everything working and then just use the layover that was shown in the screenshots, and almost everything would work?

Demon is using rom from this forum as a base. If he was using a miui ROM and just pasting cm files he wouldn't need permission to post it. Except maybe from the Chinese and effe them.

OK what I want to know which miui he is using though not what base but which miui file, like for what phone.

Anyways yes. I'm working on cm10.1 right now though. Trying to fix the problem with installing apps. If that's fixed it cm10.1 could be used as a daily driver.

On the miui rom.
So far I fixed the SU on it. But blank messages are still there.
Can you tell me what miui you used.
PM me or add me on skype.

I need testers btw.

too see what changed between jb and cm-10.1 just compare commits on github.

I can attest from other projects, 4.2.2 does the sdcard stuff differently. A good example of this is the ZTE Sequent, on jb we had the sdcard mounting fine, on cm-10.1 no workie. And I know what I edits I did on it to make it boot cm10.1 and they had nadda to do with anything related to the sdcard.

And how is that CM10.1 project going for you? I attempted at it but couldn't do very much if anything at all

I won't be able to test until I get a computer.. I forgot im on stock and lost root :/ unless I can root from the phone.

I love this rom! If i had a choice of this or cm10 both running perfect, it would be a hard choice.

Anyway, i have tried the most recent OP link and most things work. Things i have noticed are: permission manager fails when asked for root permissions, miui toolbox fails, gps doesn't work, and other random force quits and a few random reboots. I never tested sms or mms, but calls work with no echo just a little low volume for my taste.

The first rom to get fully working gps will be my daily...

Sorry if this question sounds stupid but i'm pretty new at this... anyways.....When there is an update to this rom, do i have to reset everything or do i just flash it?
