wipe baseband data, what does it do?

Leave it alone, unless you are flashing a new baseband file immediately following the wipe. Your baseband file controls your radio transmitter, so no baseband, no calls, data, SMS, etc.
 
I clicked it, now what do I do? Heres the story... I recently left Verizon for another carrier. I was attempting to completely reset the phone so I can sell it. Will the phone not work now when someone tries to activate it? Is there a way to fix my mistake?

On that note, I am unable to try and activate the phone as I do not have a Verizon account anymore. But, when I click the "activate" button on the phone, it goes through to the system to activate it. So that should mean that it can still make calls and everything, right? I just do not want to sell a phone that someone cannot activate properly.

if you cant get an answer quick, call VZW and ask.. they should know
 
I would still look for one of the baseband update.zip files and copy it to your SD card and flash it to your phone.
 
Ok, the only thing I have done in the past is manually put Android 2.2 on my phone. Do you flash this the same way?
 
Put the file on your SD card, rename it update.zip. Boot into recovery by holding the X key while powering on. If using stock Recovery, at the ! Screen hold the volume up key down and press the camera button to get into recovery. Select the option to flash the update.zip file.
