Root Wipe option

The one safe to wipe at anytime is wipe cache. Wipe data will wipe out anything that you have stored into your phone including; apps, contacts , sms , emails acc , and anything personal. So is recommended to wipe data if you want to factory reset your phone or if you are flashing a new entirely different ROM.

You can also Wipe Dalvik cache but there's no point in going to the CWM menu to wip cache... IMO it's just easier to get CacheMate(Paid App) from the Android Market and it'll get rid of your cache for you. Wipe Cache Partition in CWM Menu does get rid of more but it also wipes cache that you may actually want too so just be smart about cache... it's a friend most of the time to help things load faster.
