Root Wiping SD card

Question I wish to wipe my SD card just to get rid of waste left behind from old apps used in the past. I know most of my settings and app+data will go but not bothered about that. I'm sure I red somewhere that all I need to keep is the android secure folder and because I have rooted i guess the clockworkmod back up folder containing backups etc. Anything else? What about the hboot and part17backup files?

i assume hboot and part17backup files are something left by the AAHK. not knowing exactly what they are,or what the aahk would use them 4 later,id say better safe than sorry in keeping them ;)

if you use titanium backup,you may want to keep that file as well.

i canot think of anythign else off the op of my head,just watever personal files you wish to keep(ringtones,wallpapers,etc). the big thing i would have mentioned is the folder where your nandroids are stored(clckworkmod in your case),wich varies per recovery. you definatley do not want to lose certain,good working backups. :)
 
no idea where they may have come from then :eek:

i personally would prolly keep them stored on the PC,just in case,but not restore them to the sd after format

scotty85...I didn't use the AAHK to root so I'm not sure where they came from. If i remember correctly I used Visionary+ to temp root and I used easy radio tool and easy s-off for the rest. I followed one of the guides on here. Looking at the files hboot is in the easy s-off program so probably best I keep it. It's hardly taking up loads of space.

I have them on my SD card too (I rooted in April last year, before the AAHK was around) and have always left them... think they came from when you had to downgrade to an old, root-exploitable, build.

Think Scotty's idea of backing up to your computer and then removing from the SD card could be worth a go though :)
