wired tether need help

i need help i have tried everything found several wired tether options none work

i will start with the market
pdanet randomly looses connection (if you have the answer please this seems easiest rout)
easy tether just plain doesn't work not sure why i think it's cause i'm on windows 7 x64

now i found a couple out of the market that also don't work

not sure how to get it to work

this i got as far as trying to load it and i get
OpenVPNClient start azilink_p1634: process started and then immediately exited: []
i like pdanet but it just keeps droping connection and i tried every fix i could find

Are you rooted? Because a few of those are for Rooted users only. And if you are rooted I thought you could just plug in and select Internet Sharing. My business pays for my hotspot so my tethering is enabled (Usb tethering is built into 2.1)
 
The difference is that the one straight from code.google won't work with the Evo as-is (which you've discovered). The one in my link has a couple of lines of code added to make it work.
