Root Wired Tether

Maybe someone will have the answer that I can seem to find. I can get wired tether to work (no matter which rom I have flashed) when i have my computer and phone connected via USB.

After doing some research I found out that you do need the NDIS driver installed on your computer (even if your OS is MS 7). So i downloaded the NDIS driver from XDA but i have no idea where to install it at.

The very first time i tried to used wired tether my PC prompted me to install the driver (at that time i didnt know that i would need it). So here is the problem:

When my phone is connected via USB everything is fine. As soon as I start the wired tether app up it's like my computer doesnt know that my phone is connected anymore. Usually to install new drivers you can go to the device manager on your PC and select the device and select install driver.

The problem is I have no idea what device i need to install the driver for. If anyone is following what I am saying and knows of a solution, I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks

I upgraded one of my computers yesterday from X64 to win 7 64 and encountered the same problem. Downloaded HTC SYNC for Eris from the HTC site and WALAA problem solved!! :D

Sync has the nessasary drivers needed for wired tethering.
