I'm thinking this as well. I have searched around the web and saw that people have ordered esteems in the past and already had accounts. I don't think this is an issue. I will wait till my order comes through and gets to my door.

EDIT: I have actually decided to cancel the order. I'd rather not have to end up losing my number or anything of the sort.

It's not an issue. I have ordered several phones through wirefly for metropcs, 2 Samsung indulges, Samsung galaxy attain, lg connect and now an lg motion. I've not opened a new account every time. I have the same account and phone number as always.
 
I been with Metropcs since February 2012 ...i have a LG connect 4G i want to upgrade to the lg motion 4g...question is all i have to do is buy it from wirefly for $99 and when it come do i just call and switch my service over to the motion or do i have to go into the store to switch ?

You dial *228 on the motion and then just switch your account to it. They will charge you if you go to the metro store.
 
Nope but as long as they come deactivated that will work. No they will ask for your phone number, and your 8 digit pass code which is most of the time your birth date.
 
ive ordered from here before no problems just ordered 1 now as well as my esteem is getting to heavy for me with the 3800 mah extended battery besides i feel i needed a change and this seems worth while. i also called before ordering the guy told me that they were in stock in my area y'all should do the same before ordering to make sure you dont wait to long for it
 
Verified by chat and email that we can use this phone on an existing account and they are out of stock with no ETA and said no to shipping upgrade.

That's just wrong its bad enough they let you make a purchase when it wasn't in stock but they won't even try to make it up to you.I should still be getting mine since the last update said its shipping and my order has been validated since Saturday.

I went to my metro corp here, and they told me I get a free accessory for buying the motion. Had a choice between an sd card, car charger and skullcandys.
 
Just checked my order status and it's been updated to shipping 8/27, delivery TBD, email tracking number when it ships. YAY!

thats what they told me on the phone as well but it was BS i ordered and said validating so i cancelled because the dont have it so i ordered from metro i paid more up front but with the rebate its 10 bux cheaper in the long run

MPCS rebate only works if you're buying TWO phones on the same account at the same time.
