Wireless charging on GS3

now I got ya I was thinking the same thing to I just ordered a new cover for mine too and it would be a PITA to remove each time I need to charge. I would also like to keep the small charging pad in my car if it plugs into cig lighter. Watch the video a few post up it looks like we will have 2 diff sizes.

Is this a Joke? I read that it can be charged wirelessly in an iPhone 4S vs S3 comparison. Is this even possible or was the reviewer drunk?

How on earth is that possible?:rolleyes:

not out of the box, there is a induction charging battery and backplate in the works though, not sure if its been released yet.

wow!! this is surprisingly shocking! I never knew that we have advanced so much in time!!

soon phones will be able to make you breakfast :D

I use tasker to have my phone communicate with my toaster every morning 15 minutes after my alarm goes off. At the same time it turns on the Nespresso machine and brews me a cappuccino. It's all ready by the time I get downstairs. You mean you guys don't do this already? :burnout:

It's not really that advanced. Inductive charging has been around for almost a century and thousands of products have used it. If you have a sonicare for instance, that's one such example.

It's a different back, not a battery and it's already available but very difficult to get because there aren't a lot. The stores that got them only got a few and they sold within a day or so of getting them.

Ok, I've merged a few wireless charging discussions together, as they all seemed related and I want to keep discussions together. Thanks for understanding and sorry about any confusion.

*BUMP* what the last guy said. i google it every few weeks and nothing, not even a press release or anything. anyone got an inside scoop?

Yes, after some reading, seems a mat is needed. So, what is the purpose? I.e if the mat or dock has to be plugged in, what is the the difference there? Then, how hard is it really to set the phone in a dock vice a matt? Really, the dock holds it up to view, the mat lays down on it's back. To dock my Droid X, is about literally 1-2 seconds and usually 1. Not sarcastic, but what is the advantage, 1-2 seconds, or am I missing something?

It's new technology. You know how people are suckers for anything that's new. Especially for the techno-geeks. I guess I'm one to a certain degree.

its a gateway to wireless charging technology that doesnt require you to use a mat, and instead charges your devices whenever youre close enough to the source (say, anywhere inside your house). also, i understand you use a dock, but i do not. i have no use for a dock, though i would personally love a wireless charging station. what if someone has a case that is too bulky for a dock?

just because something doesnt cater to your interests and/or needs doesnt mean it doesnt cater to anyones.
