when u take the cover off the att g3 is had a thin flat object attached to the back with two metal prongs that touch the prongs on the back of the phone itself...is this wireless charging cover?? or what is it? i know g3 supports PMA wireless charging system so i got a powermat and it wouldnt charge..so what is the thing on the stock back cover?

You need the cases with the other two contacts, Be wary, International contacts are spaced separately than US models; and ATT does not use the QI standard. Buyer beware on any wireless accessories.

If it has two contacts on the cover, its NFC. It needs 4 contacts in order to work with NFC and wireless charging. I'm looking into a Qi/NFC sticker that you place on the battery door. I ordered it and waiting for it to arrive to see if it works on VZ LG G3. I'm already getting a feeler to see if people are interested in group buy over at XDA

I hadn't heard that. So the oem 4 pin backs will work or not for US QI?
If the battery cover that come with the phone have 4 pins, it will work on US QI. But no US carrier offers it out of the box.

There's also two different QI versions. One is for Korean and one is for international (US). The difference is that the Korean has 4 pins [all pins evenly spaced]. The "international" which should work with our phones also has 4 pins but it has 2 pins, a gap followed by 2 pins.

Tmo, VZ and Sprint us QI. AT&T uses PMA which is exclusive to Powermat. So it will be harder for AT&T users to get wireless charging until Powermat or similar companies release compatible covers.
