Got an interesting problem with my Desire. When I turn on wi-fi scanning when I'm in my house, it finds my home wireless network and connects to it successfully. So the wi-fi logo appears at the top of the phone screen.
But once it is connected, it won't do anything. No internet connection, no market, no online games, etc. But in the Settings, it says that it is definitely connected and the signal strength is good. This has been going on for about a week. And obviously, when the wi-fi is connected, the 3G turns off. So having a wi-fi connection means I have no internet at all.
I don't believe there is a problem with my home wireless, as my laptop is connected to it fine, and I've been playing Xbox online using it. So it seems to be the Desire that is the problem. I've tried turning everything off and on, I've tried forgetting my home wireless connection and then connecting it again, and I've tried the free wi-fi that you get in cafes and restaurants. No luck.
I've searched online forums, but the only other problems I can find are from people who can't connect to wireless networks at all. So I'd be really grateful if anyone knows the cause or solution to my problem.
