And I meant if your link speed reports 72Mbps, then expect half that amount in actual use. The speed reported is deceiving as it reports the best optimal conditions to get that speed. Which in reality, one will never really see.
Doubling the MHz (from 20 to 40) doesn't mean you'll get double the speed. It might give a small performance boost, but nothing else. You also need to have a strong signal in order to benefit from it. Weaker signals yield little results and may not even work.
