wireless connection speed

Hi does any one know what the maximum wireless speed is for the note at the moment I am getting 72mb on 2.4 and 150 on 5.2. I thougth it should be double that as the router is set to 40mhz, are there any setting on the note that can be altered.

I think the numbers you stated are the maximums for it. I get the same link connection speed. But that's what is reported by the OS and not what you'll really experience anyways. Maybe half the stated speed or less would be more realistic. Remember that wireless is good for one thing and one thing only; that is convenience and nothing else.

But I always thought that wireless "n" at 40 mhz would be around 300 mbs not 72 as thats not even half.

It will also depend on the Wi-Fi hardware the devices employ. The Note 10.1 (as well as the Note 2) probably doesn't have a powerful Wi-Fi antenna. Quite frankly, Wi-Fi is overrated and only offers convenience and nothing more.

And I meant if your link speed reports 72Mbps, then expect half that amount in actual use. The speed reported is deceiving as it reports the best optimal conditions to get that speed. Which in reality, one will never really see.

Doubling the MHz (from 20 to 40) doesn't mean you'll get double the speed. It might give a small performance boost, but nothing else. You also need to have a strong signal in order to benefit from it. Weaker signals yield little results and may not even work.
