Help Wireless network selection problem

hiii.....
I am having trouble switching between GPRS and Wi Fi .......i need to know about selecting between wi fi and gprs...
PROBLEM-when i try to connect to internet my phone automatically connects using gprs connection....when i connect to wireless networks in my college, phone still uses gprs i want to use my wi fi to surf internet but i cant figure out how to do so...
.please help...

if you want to disable gprs just turn off data traffic then turn on wifi to connect. make sure you are connected properly on the wifi network.
