Hi, guys newbie here;)

I've had a wildfire for a few weeks now and had this very same problem and I also have a Netgear router.

One make sure your not on channel 13, mine is 12.

My problem was this..... log into you router go down to Advanced Wireless setting and in there you will find your Wireless Card Access List, Then open up the list by clicking setup access. If you set up your router to access by their PC Mac Address in there then turn it off by removing the tick in Turn Access Control On.

When I did that on mine it worked:).

I also got this info from HTC support which may help if that didn't.....

• soft reset (restart the phone)
• Remove all WiFi profiles on the handset
• Once all profiles are removed, try to connect to the WiFi network again.
• restart the WiFi router / Access Point.
• Is the Handset connected to the WiFi network after a router restart?
• Is the WiFi Network / Router Secured with a WEP / WPA Passkey or is it an Open Network?

Note: WiFi passkeys can be case sensitive.

• Did the handset connect to the WiFi network after re-entering the passkey?
• No? Then remove the passkey from the WiFi network to make it an open network for a while
• Try to connect the handset to the open network.

• Ensure other device can browse when connected to the same router
• Test the device with another WiFi router so that we know it's not faulty and we can exclude a hardware failure.
• Check for any 3rd Party applications that may have recently been installed
• Check with the Router manufacturer to confirm compatibility with Android / HTC devices
• Make sure the Router has the latest Firmware installed
• When using WPA or WPA 2, set the encryption on the router to TKIP (Also known as Personal) and not to AES (Also known as business or Corporate)

I'm not sure why this was moved but it's not a question it's an answer helping someone on another thread :confused:

It should have been read first! I didn't even give it a heading Wireless questions.
