Root wireless tether - access control / wep security

couple questions about wireless tether for anyone who knows..

while using wireless tether with access control enabled, i am able to restrict the 20 other people trying to connect to my phone from getting online but don't see a way to actually force disconnect them. is this possible? i know it doesn't make much of a difference since they can't use any data, but i'd still rather disconnect them so the phone doesn't assign an IP address.

also, using ubuntu 11.04 my netbook doesn't connect properly using a passphrase when i turn on wep security thru wireless tether. i know it will connect fine if i have the wep key instead of a passphrase (home router has the same issue, it's an ubuntu issue not anything with the routers) is there a way to get the actual wep key thru wireless tether instead of the password i set? i haven't had any lucking finding the key and would much rather use a secure network instead of enabling access control.

thanks
