Root wireless tether and google voice

I realize that wireless tether internet doesn't work while while you're on a call, but what if you use Google Voice to place a call? Shouldn't the internet work since you are not using 3g? I tried it, but my internet still did not work. Anyone else try this and get it to work? Is there any way to be online (wireless tether) and on a call at the same time?

I believe google voice still uses cell to place the call and not data. It still uses your actual verizon number at this point and is not a true VOIP app

^For the reasons he stated, you can't be on a Google Voice call on your phone while tethering. You could try using the call feature in gmail on whatever computer you have tethered, that would allow you to be on a call and tether at the same time.
