Is it normal to lose data connection when tethering and receiving a phone call or making a phone call?

I tried the other app that's not in the market and I can tether with it and have phone calls in/out without losing data connection. This program did freeze my phone with a black screen and I had to pull battery to get anything to come back on.

So what's the preferred version to use? Market or non-market? Only drawback with market version I can see is the lack of data connection when connected with in/outbound calls.

Are you using your phone as a hotspot or using wifi at home? If you are using it as a hotspot, that is one of the draw backs of the cdma network that sprint uses. It is not capable of calls and internet at the same time through 3g service. I believe 4g service is capable of it but not positive.

If you're running 4G you can get calls at the same time. If you're on 3G you can't.
