Root Wireless tether showing low signal?!

Lurker
I rooted my phone with revolution a few weeks ago because I had been paying the 30$ a month for wireless tethering for almost 6 months.. Well if someone else is getting it for free you better believe I am too lol. Anyways, I am using the wireless tether application for the free wifi and superuser as the access point ( if that matters lol). I have always had complete FULL signal when I looked up the access point on my computer and the wifi internet was running extremely fast on my computer. Well the last three days I have noticed that it only has two bars of signal now and I can barely do anything. If I am using two tabs on google chrome the other won't even load until I stop the other one from loading. I was thinking that maybe it had to do with my phone and maybe the 3g speed was just really slow (we don't have any 4g towers yet go figure) but when I get on my phone it's running pretty fast and doesn't seem to lag or anything. I closed out all the running apps using advanced task killer( usually about 10-14 are running). I've updated profile and prl ( sprint advised this, I didn't tell them my wifi was low bc well they dont know I have it ha) I just told them that my 3g speed was slow. I've restarted my phone and computer and I just cannot get a good signal... What is going on??! How can it go from being amazing to complete crap in a matter of days? I know this was a novel but if you took the time to read I would appreciate any tips on this matter. oooh I should also add that sometimes it will randomly disconnect from the internet too for only a minute and then will connect right back up :/

try wiping dalvik cache and cache first. most of the times this will fix small issues.

Thanks! I don't know if it does the same thing but I used the 1 click clear app and cleared the cache that way.. Still no improvement. This is getting frustrating lol

What Ocn was referring to was to boot into recovery and wipe the cache partition and the dalvik cache.

This is the same spot where you flashed the super user file when you rooted.

If you need help acomplishing this just let us know. :)

First and foremost Welcome to AF!!!

I believe the 1 Click Clear app only clears cache and not dalvik cache. You clear dalvik cache in recovery. I haven't used Clockwork's recovery in so long but I'm pretty sure it's in "advanced options".

You'll come to find out that clearing cache/dalvik cache is a fix all for most small issues.
