Root Wireless tether

So I am rooted! Woot... But im having issues getting wireless tether to work. Says its on but from my other devices nothing shows up as far as wireless connections go....any ideas? Really would like to get this going especially with wifi only galaxy tab coming out!

You aren't using the 3G mobile hotspot that comes on the phone are you?? You will need to download a 3rd party app such as Barnacle from the app market. Hopefully this fixes your problem.

Just curious if the 3rd party hotspot fixed the issue. I will soon be getting an android phone and especially interested in issues related with tethering.

I would shy away from Barnacle as I was having connection issues. It said I was broadcasting from my phone, however no computer would see it. I switched to wireless tether for root users and everything works perfect.

The thing is I'm getting that same issue you are but with both apps....i cannot figure out why...
