Root Wireless tether

you are using 20 gigs a month and havent been caught? :eek: thats shocking...verizon supposedly gives you warning if you consistently go over 5gb.

im not saying that you are making that up, just surprising :)
 
I used 2.6g my first month. That was before I tethered. We will see how much this month...

Yea sounds like someone is stretching the truth a little. Supposedly it's $52.5 per extra Gb so at 15Gb over thats an extra $787.50 a month...;)

*technically* we have unlimited gb usage...however in all reality verizon reserves the right after 5 gbs to throttle your speeds or cut you off if you do it consistently (afaik anyway)

personally im usually 2gb a month or so but sporadically will hit 4gb when im not on wifi alot

Yea that's what I'm talking about. But if I read that right its saying verizon can charge $52.50 for every Gb over the 5Gb but I may have misread..
 
I downloaded Barnacle and when I start it it has a error. The error says "Failed to supplicant: No such file or directory. Then error says terminated. Can sombody help me with this/

Mine did the exact same thing. In barnacle it says if it won't load to uninstall it and download the legacy version. Its not the new updated one. I got legacy opened barnacle, and hit start...broadcasted without a hitch! Try that. Lemme know if it worked....

ok, glad you got something to work. They are all functional, though you may have to be a little savvier with the settings

Taken from a post on the motorola Droid section and I thought my data usage was bad:eek:
 
I have yet to get WiFi tether or Barnacle to work on my Fascinate. I never had a problem with my two Droids or the Inc. I'm on Blackhole 1.4 now...I was on jt Super clean before. Is there something I'm missing?
 
Got my first thank! Woohoo I feel better now...least I could help someone else!...speaking of which...nit...i bricked my phone again...help! Jk jk lol
 
id just like to say i have two lines and my data use is not from tethering, but one line my fascinate im up to 21.59 gb this month and my other line the droid x is up to 13.48 gb. Id assume i use ALOT of data, but vzw hasnt throttled my connection or called. Oh my billing cycle doesnt end for 6 more days :^)

verizon has the right i believe to throttle or stop your data after 5gb per month (what they term as unlimited) but most people who go way over report never having this issue...so all the power to ya :)
 
Hi, I was using wireless tether on my android 1.5 but wen I upgrade to 1.6 there is an error ..... "Sorry, but your kernel does not have the necessary features for teathering....... Somebody can help me please !!!!
