Root Wireless Tethering help, running KaosFroyo

I am running KaosFroyo and having trouble getting the Wireless Tether to work with my iPad. I can start the tether just fine, and the iPad sees it, and I can connect to it using the password I set, but then whenever I try to do something it tells me I have no internet connection. I know it can be done because I've seen other people say they've done it... I'm at a loss though. I have no idea what I'm missing here

Any ideas?

Have you set it up to allow your iPad to have access? I know when I tether to my laptop, I have to verify that I want to give it access.
