Help wireless tethering limited connectivity issue

Hello! I am having some issues with my wireless tether on my droid incredible. it seems to work fine when it's first turned on, but after some time (usually 5 minutes or so) no data is transferred to the laptop. the same thing happens on any laptop connected to it. if you look at the screen on the phone, you can see that the download/upload rates drop to 0. sometimes disconnecting/reconnecting does the trick, but this doesn't seem to be a very reliable fix. i tried looking in the forums, but it seems like most people who have an issue don't get a connection at all, where i do get a connection but the data transfer is unreliable. almost seems like the wireless maybe goes to sleep or something if the phone is not in use? am i missing something??

Anybody hear of an explanation for this? I have recently starting having this happen to me as well. Haven't changed roms or anything like that.
