Wireless USB dongle issues

When plugging in USB cable to sync via HTC Sync on my PC, it knocks out my Wireless network on a USB Dongle to a router. A reboot of the router or PC can fix, surely that's at little ott

If you reboot the router or the PC while both your dongle and phone are plugged in, do they then both work?
