Help woke up with wrong time on phone

ATT NOTE 3 .. not rooted.

woke up this morning with the wrong time on the phone.
I am in Texas...and the current time is 9:29am
my phone says it is 1:53am

I have rebooted and the time is still wrong.
anyone know what the issue is? I am guessing ATT's system time is wrong.

Possibly, but unlikely. You have got automatic date and time and automatic time zone checked under settings>time and date, haven't you?

no . it was NOT checked...
the indicated date: 5/19/15 at 5:22am... location: GMT 05.00 Central Daylight time zone

real time: 5/18/19 12:56pm .. Location: Texas / Central

I then ... select that automatic time and date option and rebooted...
it was then self corrected.
