Help Wont Connect to PC

Dont know why its now doing this but plugged my usb into my computer and then into my phone as you do. The pc has recognised the connection but when i open removeable drive E it says please insert a disk aswell as that htc sync is not recognising a phone connected. any help please, probably a simply way of sorting this out im just being a noob lol.

Is there an SD Card in the phone?

yes there is an SD card, could that be the cause of problems its in use on the phone, i no longer get that notifications to mount sd card which i use to get when i plugged the usb in

Is the card viewable in the phone itself? Can you see pics etc that are saved on to it. Also, is it the standard card that came with the handset or have you bought another? Can you check to see if it's inserted properly? Might be worth trying to reseat it.

Is it mounted? Settings -> SD & Phone Storage

yes i can view pictures on the card, i have unmounted the card removed and then put back in and the phone acknowledges the card is there. the problem seems to be that my pc wont recognise a connection properly to the phone

No worries, I was just trying to rule out an issue with the card itself.

Did you install the version of HTC Sync via the HTC website or the one on the handset? Will it connect with something like MyPhoneExplorer?

I'm not too familiar with the Desire HD, but maybe give this a try.

Go to settings/connect to pc/Default connection type and set it to disk drive. Also tick the box that says ask every time etc.

i've tried all this and none of it has helped , still not findiing my phone having to put music on my old sony and bluetooth it over

Settings -> Connect to PC -> Ask Me.

Is that checked? For MyPhoneExplorer to work, you'll need to install the app on the phone too. Here's the link for the app you'll need to install on the phone.

yay fixed it , don,t ask me how . kept changing the ask me when connecting to P.C settings and rebooting , finally the phone popped up when connected to P.C
