Help Won't receive messages?

I have a droid fascinate. & i am not receiving messages. This has happened before, and i have checked for updates, and then once my phone updates, i get messages again. I just checked for updates, and it says im up to date. and i tried sending a message and it said the network wasn't responding, but if i go into settings-about phone-system updates- it says "Status- service unavailable" i'm not sure what that means. I do have service. And i'm able to get on facebook through the phone without my wifi. And people say they are trying to send me messages, but won't go through. Please help me! Thank you!

I am having the same problems on my Samsung fascinate and I just got this stupid thing over the weekend! I am receiving some texts but NONE of mine are going out. Mine phone too under the system updates says Status: Service Unavailable Code:500 but I can use the internet, email etc. Someone please help, I like the phone but this is driving me crazy. All Verizon says to do it factory reset and the *228 reprogramming and I've done both about a hundred TIMES!!!
