So I wanted to unlock my old S2X (SGH-T989D) (locked to Koodo) so I could use it with my new (Rogers) SIM card while my phone was away for repairs...

But, obviously I messed up somehow, since I have no idea what I'm doing. Now it's stuck at the "Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies & try again".

Kies is useless, it won't show my phone so I can't do the emergency recovery. What do I do? I don't mind if it isn't unlocked after this, original firmware would be ok. I more or less understand how to use Odin, but I can't seem to find the right files with original firmware.

Please help :Z

Try another USB cable. Also make sure the drivers are installed.

And can you get into download mode?

You might want to Odin back to full stock.
