Won't turn on

Hey guys, I have my friend's S2 here from T-mobile and it won't turn on. I have it charging as of this moment and the screen is black, as in turned off, but the phones keeps making vibrations about one second in length about every two seconds...I tried getting into download mode (hold down vol buttons down and plug it into my computer with odin open), it sometimes shows the warning and to press up if I want to get in there, I do this, and it goes in there but then the screen turns off and goes back to vibrating again. This also happens when I try to turn on the phone, it stops vibrating, the charging battery logo appears but then the screen goes dark again and the vibrating continues. Do any of you have any idea as to what is happening, and how I may fix it?

Actually, I just found a similar problem with someone else's phone in this forum and it's probably the power button getting stuck on my friend's as well...will try to sort that out...sorry for the unnecessary post.

Well, the phone turns on, and then when the android comes on and starts flying up it turns off again and resumes vibrating. Any ideas on how to fix this?

is this before or after the root?

Have you tried a factory reset?

This phone isn't even rooted. According to my friend it's all stock with the 4.0 update or maybe he bought it with 4.0 in it already, I am not sure. I try doing factory reset using the physical buttons and sometimes I am able to get into the recovery but then the phone turns off before I can do anything. I've been able to get to the lock screen and unlock it, then I head over to settings but then the phone turns off so I'm not able to get to the factory reset option there either.

Really not much else to say at this point, it could be a number of things. Hows the phone look externally? Any external damage? Water damage is the first thing that comes to mind, but I couldnt be 100% sure. It's probably safe to say something is up with the hardware.

How long was your friend using it before this?

i know this is last month but yes it is the power button. My rooted s2 did the same thing i was broke at the time so couldnt get it repaired and needed to have s2 running so i removed the button which i advise strongly not to do. Still have s2 and using it i just dont let it waste where it turns off.
