so:
1)download clockwork from the link above
2)rename it PD98IMG and place it on your sd card
3)boot to hboot and allow it to update. when it finishes,reboot
4)remove PD98IMG and place the custom rom on the sd card
5) you can get to recovery from the hboot menu
6)flash your custom rom
go with this procedure???

Could I do the same with a .zip of 4EXT? Just change the name to PD98IMG?

depends on the .zip

if its allready set up for hboot flashing,then yes.

if its not,youll need to unzip it,and find the recovery image inside. place the recovery image,along with the android info text document from a PD98IMG(when youre s-off,it doesnt matter what info is there. it just needs to be present,so you can borrow one from any PD98IMG you may have),into an empty folder where you can work with them. zip the recovery image and text document up together,and name it PD98IMG-4ext-recovery (or similar just so you can keep it straight on the PC)

you can rename to PD98IMG,move it to the sd and flash.
