Woot gives Captivate the Boot?

I was at the AT&T Store last night trying out this phone during Woot.com's woot off. I tried going to Woot.com and every time the browser shut down and kicked me to the home page. Scared me off the phone a bit.

Then, by chance, I was on Woot.com's boards and found out that two other Captivate users had the same problem.

Not sure what this means, but is this a problem with certain sites on the Captivate?

have you tried other browsers with it?
I just used dolphin over 3G and it came up no problem

The problem with WOOT (and some other sites as well) with the default browser can be stopped if you go into the browser settings and disable plug-ins.

It does not happen all the time on those sites either ... some days it works fine.

Crazy, I just noticed this exact same thing with Woot today. You are not alone.

Yeah, I have plug-ins disabled and it works fine for me.

I was one of those who commented on the Woot site--I also sent them an email. Really frustrating during a wootoff . I wonder if this is a Captivate issue or a 2.1 issue? I will have to try the plug-in fix though

edit: Disabling plug-ins works--Now what do I lose by doing that?

Flash lite (and Java?), I think. Might be an ad or something on Woot that's crashing the browser.

Just checked out woot.com woot off on my captivate..it was fine.

I have problems with mobile Lifehacker. Sometimes it crashes Dolphin HD sometimes as well.
