Root Words of nandroid Caution

Yesterday, I installed RIL on my phone, it took a little while to find the checksum but it installed OK and I had a very good signal. Which lasted about 10 minutes! No signal! I waited a while, powered down, powered up. Yey a signal, which didn't last! So I'm left with 3G but no wireless. Hmmmm? Reflashed my old radio, whoop whoop a signal, which tue to form dropped off leaving me again with this time H but no wireless.

Knowing I had a back up Nandroid I manually wiped system, data, cache, ext, everything. Went to restore, time halted by the statement!

Installation aborted.
md5 checksum did not match

Luckily all I really lost was some game data and a few Yuletide photo's, but there is a moral to the story, "If your gonna mess with stuff you don't even need, make sure you got nothing to lose."

Oh, and RIL don't work with CM6!

hmmm, what recovery are you using?
when ive seen these errors with md5 its usually due to sd corruption

Funily enough I am going to buy a new SD card (16Gb, Class 6 - 10) if you have any vendors to recommend? I'm using Clockwork and never had or heard of this problem before. The file had been renamed, which could possibly have thrown it.

I rename my nandroids (the directory, not the files it contains!) all of the time, and have never had any problems.

I'd also have guessed a card error if the checksum doesn't match.

sandisk (seem to have better grade than the class they state)
Kingston (life time warranty)
transcend

seem to be the more reputable ones
