work around for kick stand charging

Hello everyone

I've seen a lot of complaints about the charging port being placed on the bottom so you can't charge the phone while you use the kickstand in landscape mode.

I found what I consider to be an acceptable work around. Place the phone the other way, so the kickstand is parallel with the table and the charging port is on the top. Then place a pen under the kickstand. It's not as sturdy as the other way (obviously) but it gets the job done.

The phone is too heavy if you don't use a pen (or whatever) underneath the kickstand and it will fall flat. The pen causes the phone to be more upright, and therefore less weight is on the stand and it can hold it up.

Anyway, hope this helps someone.

If I understand you right I think you mean perpendicular, the phone was designed to also sit upright with the kickstand parallel to the surface.

LOL, OK. I see now. In your post it lost me when you said the charging port would be at the top. I thought you were some how using the kickstand in "reverse" and using the pen to prop it open.

actually, that's a good way to explain it. Using this method you woudl be using the kickstand in reverse. lay the phone in landscape mode.... with the charging port on the top of the screen. Now, flip out the kickstand. It won't hold up the weight of the phone and collapses on its self. If you place something (a pen works) underneath the kickstand it will hold it's self up.

Some of us have been doing this for a while. You actually don't need the pen, depending on how you position the charging cable, which can provide just enough extra support. The pen helps too, 'though, especially if you want a more vertical angle.

If you're gonna go to this much trouble, why not just lean the TB back against some solid object, and don't even use the kickstand?

LOL love it. I prefer to hang the phone from the ceiling while charging in landscape mode.
