Work Stopped

[Android Question]

Hi,
My new Micromax A73 one started popping up this error every few seconds on the home screen.
"The application Launcher(process com.android.launcher2) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again." with the force close button underneath. It's really annoying.

How do I fix/replace process com.droid.launcher2 ..
without resetting my phone to factory settings(losing all my apps) &
without rooting it..

At first I thought this thread was about a strike or something, lol.

Not sure you can. If you installed an aftermarket launcher, uninstall it. If you have your apps and such being backup up to google after a factory data reset they will be restored.

Or since you say the phone is new, it might be needing to be warranty replaced.

That kind of sounds like the stock launcher to me (based on the package name)...:dontknow:

I've seen folks around advise simply rebooting to see if that helps (I'm guessing the thought is that a regular reboot might help "clean the pipes", etc.). But I guess this suggested solution would depend on how often you already reboot.

If a reboot does not help you might try accessing the launcher through manage apps.

System--> Manage Apps --> Select launcher

Once you select Launcher clear cache and data. You will not lose your apps but you will lose any settings (launcher configuration). This approach might fix the issue.
