[Working] New updated (paid apps showing) Android Market

And I posted a question in apad.tv about the problem of the market showing only free apps and not even all of them. I am gonna try this one. :)
 
I installed the new Android Market. Nominally, a huge improvement over the old version, and the paid apps issue that has occupied so much ink on this and other forums is resolved!

However, I've encountered a problem: If you do a search on a app subject, Market will state the number of apps matching that subject and then list them, just like it does in the old version. However, I find that only a subset of the total are actually listed. For example, it might say that it found 65 apps, but lists only 20.

Is there anyone who can shed light on this. Articles I've found on the Internet state that Google is rolling out the new version "slowly", so maybe it is not ready for prime time yet, but I thought I'd ask if anyone on this forum knows anything about this problem.

In this new version, one is supposed to be able to stream videos and movies, but I couldn't find any. Again, I presume this is because tghey haven't officially rolled it out, but I'm curious to know if anyone has had a different experience.
 
Well I only looked for one thing and got sad again. I searched QR Droid and again I could not find it. Sigh.
 
I fixed the problem of not seeing the full list of apps by going to Settings>Applications>Manage Applications>Market, then clicking on Clear Cache and Clear Data buttons. All apps show now. Great to see all the paid apps without hunting for them all over the Internet! I have the impression that there are even more free apps than I used to get.

No movies yet. I wonder if, when they become available, we will be able to play them on the Flytouch or if they will be screwed up a la Netflix. There atons of books available. Sure to give Amazon and Barnes & Noble strong competition.

The GUI on the new Market app looks a lot like the tiled UI on the latest Windows phones that will be the standard UI on Windows 8.
 
it worked fine for me on tim5a. I cleared cache and data as suggested too and everything seems nice now. Too bad though some apps are not found.

Thanks, I tried it but the result was the same.

i guess it will be because I currently have the latest official firmware installed because Tims4e gave me problems with memory loss and the official firmware doesn't, something to do with the mount points for the sdcard and udisks. I have a 4GB internal tf so don't need Tims firmware to access it!...anyway.. the official firmware has Market ver 1.82....

Not a problem for me...I don't need Market, I use google & download .apk's directly. (including paid for apps :-))

I think that ultimately you may want the new Market because it is much more than an app store. Appears that Google wants to make it the single interface for accessing a host of services (much like the Apple Store) like books, music, videos, movies, etc. It is clearly a direct competitor to Amazon online books and maybe Netflix movies (movie function isn't operational yet).
