Root (WORKING)ODIN Image for Transform Ultra

gpotvin

Newbie
I chatted with ShabbyPenguin on the IRC and he pointed me to a working TU odin for sprint phones. Boost users benefit from this too because the .ops file provided in the other downloads on this forum is the wrong version. I have successfully flashed my data partition and everything else using odin and the new ops and image i found. You can download it from this link: [ACSyndicate][ODIN][OFFICIAL_EG30.tar][SPRINT]

*note: for boost users use the odin images from bads3ctors post and the ops from my post for best results. If you make your own odin image i also suggest you use this .ops.

Directions:
1. Download the file from the link above
2. Extract the zip archive
3. There are two files: a .md5.tar and a .ops
4. Open ODIN
5. Select one package and set 90 for the reset time
6. Select:Vital2_eMMC.ops for the OPS
7. Select:SPH-M930_REL_EG30_PRODUCT.tar.md5 as the ONE PACKAGE
8. Press start and you will be back to stock when it finishes.

For me the odin took about 5 and a half minutes. It could take shorter or longer depending on your system.

Anyone want to explain why you would want to flash all these Sprint partitions?
sprintTU - Minus

The only ones that really matter are system, recovery, data, boot(kernel) and maybe modem. Why re-flash all the rest of those partitions?

For reference....here is the ops file:
0,partition
1,dbl
2,osbl
3,amss
4,emmcboot
5,adsp
6,boot
7,system
8,cache
9,userdata
10,recovery
11,persist

Edit: This is a real question....I just want to know if there is a reason for flashing all the rest of those partitions. Why mess with them if they are not corrupted?

:smokin:I am really getting confused. Otherwise I am waiting for Interdpth to come to the rescue.

Question if you revert back to get the OTA 2.3.6 wouldn't defeat the purpose if you want to flash a custom ROM, the customs are not 2.3.6 yet can't I just wait until they are updated. Why not use Bobz new kernel hear it was much better, and wait until ROMs are upgraded that is if they will be?

It depends on how long you want to wait, I did not so I went for the full 5.3.0, cwm, and bobz Kernel.

About bobz kernel I am positive it makes the screen perfect as it does not let go of your touch anymore like it did in the past. however I think some software tweaks need to be done.

Everyone including me states the apps do not let go and click anymore, but i notice for light browsing it sometimes does not register the touch and while playing angry birds certain angles seem to get skipped as you move your finger up and down, almost like a dead spot on the screen.

However moving your finger up and down fast seems to fix it but than it pops up again later while trying to be precise. Still the screen does not register I lifted my finger randomly like before so its pretty much perfect.

I think I am going to mess with some settings like in the Screen Fix Finally :)thread.

I do think the 2.3.6 might have taken this into account but until it's tried in that great of detail I don't think anyone will notice. I just happen to have moments of attempting to be a perfectionist and this is one of them. Especially after playing angry birds on a test boost mobile (without TS issue but running 2.3.4) phone I bought and returned, I can tell the difference imo.

I'm new so I would not take too much stock in my opinion.

Your right on the button. Most people are too anxious too get to something that is actually worse than what we already have available (unless they are 100% pure stock).
Waiting would be the best option ... unless you just like to have fun and mess with things! :D

Thank you Smith, I can say I am very happy and I love to play but I guess I am being careful I already had to replace one phone so I'll be happy to wait for the pro's to figure it out. :D

Look I didn't make the image I just reposted it. I don't see what it hurts by flashing the other partitions.

That link doesn't work anymore. Does anyone have this file? I'm stuck trying to unroot right now and accidentally flashed a boost stock rom.
